Chhath Puja 2014

Chhath Puja (छठ पूजा) is one of the prime festival of north India and Nepal dedicated to God Surya and Chhathi Maiya. The rituals of this festival are rigorous and it goes on for four days. Chhath Pooja is performed near the water bodies like rivers or ponds and when it comes to my city Dehri On Sone, we celebrate on the bank of Sone river.

Chhath Puja is very close to nature and eco-friendly, as devotees use Ghee Lamp for prayer, 'Soop' & 'Daura' used during rituals are made of bamboo. Prashad for Chhath Puja includes all available seasonal fruits, dry fruits, sugarcane, coconut, ginger & turmeric plants and lot more.

Dehri on Sone (डेहरी ऑन सोन) is the beautiful city and it has great scope for tourism. Here is some of the images clicked through the city while moving around with my friends. This small Dam on the canal is used to generate hydro-electric power. The hydero power plant has the capacity of 4 Units x 1.65 MW (total of 6.60 MW). Indrapuri Dam (Barrage)

Indrapuri Barrage (also known as the Sone Barrage) is the fourth longest barrage in the world with the length of 1407 meters (4616 ft). Construction of Indrapuri barrage began in 1960 by Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) and commissioned in 1968. Two canals are connected with Indrapuri Dam are used for irrigation and converted a large area of infertile land in to a richly productive area. माँ तुत्लेश्वरी भवानी मंदिर (तुतला धाम)

प्रकृति की गोद में स्थित माँ तुतला भवानी का मंदिर और इसके आस पास का प्राकृतिक दृश्य अत्यन्त ही सुन्दर, मनोरम और अलौकिक है | तुतला भवानी मंदिर पहाड़ी की घाटी में स्थित है और इसके ठीक उपर स्थित जलप्रपात की फुहारें मंदिर को छूते हुए निकलती हैं | ऐसी मान्यता है कि उपर से गिरने वाले पानी की बुँदे अगर सीधे आपके मुँह में गिरती है तो माता की कृपा आप पर है| यहाँ छोटे पथ्थरो की बहुत सारी घरनुमा आकृतिया देखने को मिलती है जो यहाँ आने वाले भक्तो द्वारा बनायीं गयी होती हैं, एक मान्यता के अनुसार इन्हे बनाने से वास्तविक घर की प्राप्ति होती है| कहा जाता है की सच्चे मन से तुत्लेश्वरी भवानी के दर्शन से मनोवांछित फल की प्राप्ति होती है, शारदीय नवरात्र की नवमी तथा श्रवण पूर्णिमा के शुभ अवसर पर माता के दर्शन करने के लिए दूर दूर से लोग यहाँ आते है और माता के आशीर्वाद प्राप्त करते है| माता का यह मंदिर अति प्राचीन है और यहाँ उनकी दो प्रतिमाएं है | इतिहासकारो के अनुसार यहाँ मिलने वाला सबसे पुराना शिलालेख शारदा लिपि में 8 वीं सदी का है और इससे यह पता चलता है की यहाँ 8 वीं सदी के पहले से ही यहाँ पूजा चलती आ र

Tutula Bhawani तुतला भवानी (also known as Tutla or Titula Dham) is located nearby Tilauthu and approximately 20 Km south west from Dehri On Sone. This place is known for temple of Goddess Maa Tutula Bhawani and incredible waterfall. लॉकडाउन में बिना काम के बाहर निकले तो खैर नहीं!
